The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area (BRNHA) is partnering with WNCW radio to develop and broadcast a new radio series called Living Traditions Moments. These two-minute vignettes, which will air on Fridays just before 8 pm, starting February 5, highlight stories about the people and traditions of the North Carolina mountains and foothills, and how these treasured traditions are being kept alive today. read more

2010 marks the 75th anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway. A series of opening weekend events planned for November 12-14, 2009 will set the stage for a year of commemoration, community celebrations, and consideration of the future of the Blue Ridge Parkway. read more

The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area board of directors announced that Angie Chandler will serve as the organization's new Executive Director, effective October 26, 2009. Chandler currently serves as Director of External Affairs with The North Carolina Arboretum. read more

The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area today announced nineteen grants totaling more than $250,000 in funding designed to preserve and promote Western North Carolina’s heritage. read more
