Host Groups, Chambers of Commerce & Visitor Centers Can Help

Because the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area is a non-profit heritage organization and does not promote individual commercial enterprises, we suggest using the services of the regional Host Groups, Chambers of Commerce and Visitor Centers to find accommodations, restaurants, attractions and excellent shopping.

What is a Host Group?

The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area’s footprint of the 25 westernmost counties in North Carolina is served by three membership organizations known as Host Groups. Members of these groups comprise lodging accommodations, restaurants, attractions, shopping and visitor services such as outfitters and tour companies. Each offers a travel guide to its respective area, with maps, contact numbers, and events. Visit the links here to get in-depth information about your chosen destination.

Smoky Mountain Host

Serves the seven western counties in the region and the Cherokee Qualla Boundary, including Cherokee and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Blue Ridge Mountain Host

Serves the ten central counties, including Asheville and Hendersonville.

High Country Host

Serves the five northwestern mountain counties, including Boone and Blowing Rock.

Chambers of Commerce/Visitor Centers

In many communities large and small throughout the region, the local Chamber of Commerce operates a visitor center or offers visitor information.  Click here for a complete list of these organizations in the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area.
